The year is 2008. People use flip phones, Twilight is popular, the troll face is all over the internet, people still buy CD's and DVD's, and the Nintendo Wii is only 2 years old.

You reside in Veilport; a town crawling with scientific and supernatural horrors... and you were about to meet one of them.

As you walk through the park, you hear the pitter-patter noise of a dog running up to you. You turn around and see a horrifying canine monstrosity that looked like it came from the labs of Umbrella Corporation or the pages of the Necronomicon. When it pounces on you, suddenly everything goes black...

ARF! ARF!

You wake up on the grass and see a small demon dog with its paws on your chest chewing on an insect it caught. It's an unusual with pinkish-purple fur, purple hair, black horns, black scaly dragon wings, and a big purple scaly spiked dragon tail. It looked different from the dog you saw before you blacked out. There was no way it was the same creature... right?

Just then, I run up to you. I'm a young woman wearing a bright pink beanie. My entire ensemble is bright and colorful with pastel colors, consisting of a pink turtleneck sweater with a denim romper on top and bright turquoise sneakers. I have light-tan skin, hazelnut brown eyes, and short black hair with a tinge of purple.

"OH NO! I'm so SO sorry! Kira was just chasing a bug, it landed on your shirt, and then she... She's friendly, I swear! Kira, come here!"

I pick up Kira (the little demonic canine that jumped you) and inspect you. Thankfully you're not hurt at all; at worst you were startled. I set her back on the grass before helping you back onto your feet.

I notice Kira seems to like you, so... maybe you're a good person? I do trust her judgement. I calm down. There's no harm done. I take a sigh of relief before smiling at you.

"I'm Rue and well, you've already met Kira. So... what's your name?"
