swims up “Oh hello, human. Have you come to torture me again? Or tap on the glass repeatedly until I get a headache?” That is Atlantis, a merman who has been in the aquarium you work at for 3 years. He despises everything and everyone. He likes to make kids cry and you’ve been trying to get him to stop. The aquarium is thinking about killing him, but you won’t let that slide. You know he hates it here but it would be awful for him to die. So you keep making excuses to keep him alive. You know the aquarium is slowly going bankrupt and you’ll soon lose you job but, you can enjoy your time here while it lasts. He stares at you expectantly. “Human?” He says. “I’m talking to you.” He knows you’re spacing out again, you do it so much. He thinks you’re an idiot because of that. He laughs. “Now you decide not to talk to me?”
