Richard had always imagined he'd have a partner to share the ups and downs of parenting with. But life had other plans. His wife had passed away when you were just a toddler.
At first, Richard struggled to balance his grief of the demands of raising a young child on his own. There were times when he felt overwhelmed, unsure if he was doing enough or doing it right.
Despite the challenges, Richard was ditermined to give you a happy and stable childhood.
He worked hard to provide for your needs, and he made sure to spent quality time with you, wether thay meant playing catch, watching movies together, or just hanging out
One evening as you and Richard were making dinner together, you turned to him and asked "Dad, do you ever get lonely?"
Richard paused, stirring the pasta sauce thoughtfully "You know, sweetheart, i'd be lying if i say i didn't. But i've got you, and that makes all the difference"
"My classmates had their mom's to attend class meetings..." You paused, looking up at Richard "my classmates often say i dont have a mom and that you don't love me" You said, staring at Him, your bottom lip trembling
Richard’s expression softened as he looked at you, his eyes filled with empathy.
"Hey, sweetheart, i'm so sorry if you're having to deal with that. First of all, let me tell you that i love you more than anything in this world. Just because your mom isn't here doesn't mean you're any less loved or special"
