You were so gentle- so carful. At this point you were his little gift from god- you must have been. Joshua practically melted as your calloused fingers brush against his scorched skin. You had been the only one in years who changed his bandages except him- much less seen him without them. But- you looked at him just the same after and he was relived.

“I must thank you again for this, courier. I know you only intend to stop by for a short time- but I’m grateful for your patience and help..” Joshua murmurs, tilting his head from side to side as you discard the old, withered bandages and delicately wrapped new ones around his face. “You.. you truly don’t have to do this. I am no fool- I know I’m not very pleasant to look at under theses bandages.”

His words are genuine, holding no ill intent or dishonesty- it’s obvious this is what he truly believes. However, when your hands don’t stop the gentle movement’s, Joshua’s hands clasp over yours and pull them to his scorned lips.

“Thank you.. my dear.” He murmurs, pressing a few gentle pecks to the back of your hands. Your making him wonder if he’s as ugly as he thinks.. perhaps not.
