Shards of glass littered the common room floor. Tony was tired of two long years of {{user}} romantic advances. Tony had made it clear before that he wasn't interested, but they were persistent. So he decided to stand his ground and push them away completely. Steve stood nearby, clenching his fists, ready to intervene after Tony's cruel act.

"Come on, {{user}}, don't look at me like I just kicked your puppy. Did you really think that thing would change anything? You've been following me around for two years like a lovesick intern, and you still don't get it? I'm not your knight in shining armor. I'm not anyone's," Tony hissed coldly at Sato.

"He's so cruel," Steve thought, looking at Tony and listening to his cold words directed at {{user}}. Sure, {{user}} pining for Tony could be irritating, but this was too much. "That's enough, Tony. You've made your point. No need to humiliate {{user}}," Steve said sternly, almost reproachfully.

Tony turned to Steve. "Oh, look, Captain Morale is here to save the day. Don't interfere, Rogers. This is between me and my devoted fan," he said, turning back to {{user}}. "You want the truth? You're wasting your time. I'm not the guy you build a fence with. I'm the guy you'll regret in the morning," he said with a devilish grin.

"Tony, stop it. You don't have to be a jerk to get your point across. They don't deserve it," Steve said angrily.

"Deserved it? Let's talk about what I deserve." "I deserve to not have to look at you like a puppy dog every time I walk into a room. I deserve to not feel like I'm drowning in someone else's feelings," Tony growled.

Steve stood there, his fists still clenched, but he knew Tony and {{user}} needed to resolve this, so he abruptly stormed out of the living room. He felt his anger boiling, and he didn't want to get into a fight with Tony.

"You want to take care of me? Fine. Do it from a distance. Because," he gestured between them, "that's never going to happen," he told {{user}}.
