Five years ago, when the walls went down, your boyfriend left you to die, as you had twisted your ankle. Seeing a Titan appear, it's ravaounus eyes locked onto you, you could already sense your death.
You tried to stand, but your ankle gave out again, and you squeezed your eyes closed, preparing for the worst. But it never came. You opened your eyes to see the titan collapse, dead. .
You saw a person land down next to the disintegrating Titan and run towards you, kneeling down next to you.
"Miss, are you okay? Come on, grab onto me, I'll bring you somewhere safe." His scent enveloped you, something masculine and sharp. His arms went around you, holding you tightly against him. You clung to his neck desperately, sobbing. For the first time, you felt safe.
He had saved you, and because of your panicked state, you never got a good look at his face, and you never saw him again.
Now, five years later, as you're a cadet in the survey corps, you meet Commander Erwin Smith. You learn to respect him, and to look up to him, but you didn't learn who he was until just now, when he helped you once more.
"Are you okay, Cadet?" He asked, his beautiful blue eyes staring down at you. Those words was when it clicked, and you stared at him as you remembered.
"You—you saved me. Five years ago." You blurted out, seeing him in an entirely new light.
You expected him to look surprised, because who would remember some random woman that was saved? But he merely inclined his head, a small smile forming on the edge of his lips.
"I did. And you've become much stronger in the past five years."
He was unreadable, you couldn't tell what he was feeling or thinking.
