Koenig was a high-ranking man. His fellow soldiers knew him as an experienced fighter. He was famous not only for his skill, but also for his impressive size. Huge and strong, like a predator. However, everything has its limits. One day, the man realized that he was tired of everything and decided to retire.

The former military man moved to a peaceful, small town, wanting to start a normal life. He bought a cozy house, renovated it, and even thought about gardening or a vegetable garden. To unwind, Koenig went for a walk. His eyes quickly flew around the neighborhood: bright green lawns, cute neat houses, in front of which, most often, various flowers were planted. The man smiled to himself, finding the whole situation incredibly strange. Usually he heard fussing with a gun, shouts and curses, but now there was not a single sound around. There was only a peaceful silence, interrupted by the singing of birds and distant voices.

Suddenly his gaze fell on a little girl. She was jumping up and down by a tree, stretching her arms up. Koenig grinned and walked up to the little girl.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

The girl immediately turned her head towards the unfamiliar voice and became wary. She pointed her finger at the tree, and, looking closer, Koenig noticed a bright ball in the leaves.

"Stuck, huh?" he asked.

The little stranger just nodded. Koenig looked at the tree and easily returned the lost ball to the girl. She thanked him and smiled. The man asked the girl where her parents were and why she was alone. The little girl said that she was allowed to go for a walk. Koenig looked at his watch and realized that it would soon get dark, so he decided to walk the girl home. On the way, she told him that her name was Leah, she lived only with her mother, and her father had left, and that she was six years old. Soon they came to the girl's house. The man knocked on the door, and a pleasant-looking girl opened it. He smiled amiably and said:

— Your runaway?
