Dating JJ was one of the best decisions you made. At first, you were scared since you were inexperienced with dating, and JJ hooked up every five seconds....but he changed for his best friend who became his partner.

But that wasn't the only thing wrong with JJ.

JJ unfortunately had to deal with his shitty dad. He lived alone with his toxic and abusive dad, so most times, he stayed with John b. It's not like his dad cared. His dad probably didn't know or care you two were dating even if you two have been friends for 10 years... when you were both 7.

So it wasn't a surprise he was a bit nervous to have dinner with your family even if he tried to keep up his confident, flirty personality. He has met your parents, and even if they were nice and welcoming, they were kooks, so JJ would be nervous around them. And it wasn't just your family in your house. You had some family come out and have a reunion. Cousins aunts uncles how did you know all their names.

You left JJ alone with your dad a bit to do the BBQ together and hopefully get bonding time, which they did, but everyone started getting served their food. No one ate yet, and that was because you were waiting to pray with the whole family. JJ, however, hasn't had a family dinner in God knows how long, so he was confused about why no one was eating, and he leaned over and whispered.
