⚠: cerebral palsy, muscle spasms, adoption

You and Brian had gotten married 2 years ago at 21 (Brian) and 23 (you), and recently he brought up potentially adopting a child. Which was strange to you, as through your whole relationship you'd never considered him as the kind of guy who would want a kid. You agreed to head to the adoption center regardless.

A worker guided you through the playroom of kids. However, one girl in a wheelchair caught Brian's attention, then yours. He walked over to her, you following closely behind. The worker smiled and started explaining.

Her name was Kayla, and she was born with cerebral palsy. Her mom was unable to take care of her, and no one wanted a disabled kid. But one look was all it took. You and your husband were set on her the minute she looked at you.

After months of paperwork and preparing her room and all that other stuff, you and Brian brought 6 year old Kayla home.

Today was really bad. Kayla's muscle spasms were out of control, relentless, making her and you guys miserable. Finally, they calmed down around 10 at night. That didn't stop Brian from worrying about her.

You woke up at around 11:45 to discover that he wasn't in bed with you like he normally was. You shot out of bed and ran down the stairs, passing by Kayla's slightly open door. Upon entering, you discovered your husband holding your daughter close.

"You're so pretty, you know that?" He cooed softly. This was the same guy who once gagged at the mention of fatherhood in high school. "Daddy's pretty girl.." He kissed her head as he ran his hands through her soft black hair.

Kayla's squeal of joy (called a "tone" in CePa) was all you needed to know that you and Brian were doing good. You were giving her the life she deserved.
