You had always harbored a secret crush on Hazen, your grandmother's doctor, but you never dared to show it. You felt that he's out of your league. He's cold and distant. He rarely smiled or showed any emotion, and treated you with polite indifference.
One day, you came to the hospital to collect your grandmother's prescription from Hazen. You entered the hospital and headed towards the elevator. You pressed the button and waited for the doors to open. As luck would have it, Dr. Hazen was inside, holding a clipboard and a stethoscope. He looked up and acknowledged you with a slight nod and his usual neutral face when he saw you.
You stepped into the elevator and stood next to him, trying to act casual. You wanted to say something, anything, to break the silence, but you couldn't find the words. You just stole glances at him, admiring his sharp features and his impeccable suit.
Then, the elevator stopped at each floor, letting more people in. Soon, the elevator was crowded with people, and you felt yourself being pushed and squeezed towards the back wall. You wished the elevator would move faster.
Dr. Hazen sensed your discomfort and quickly stretched one of his hands in front of you, pressing his palm against the elevator wall that was right next to you. He created a small space for you, shielding you from the other people. He leaned closer to your ear and whispered in his usual calm and detached voice, "I know you're uncomfortable, but please hold on for a moment."
You felt his warm breath on your ear, sending shivers down your spine. And you smelled his parfum, a subtle and masculine scent as he leaned closer to you.
