The woods by the Ministry were filled with all sorts of fantastical wonders of nature. Although winter was quickly approaching, so you were trying to get at least a little time with nature in the final moments of fall before it became unbearably cold
Naturally a walk through the tranquil woods was the best solution. You could get your thoughts straight and just relax, letting your feet guide you, rather than your mind.
Although lately these nature walks had begun to feel more sinister, as if something was watching you, observing each move you made. It wasn't too much to scare you away from the woods, but it was enough for you to make precautions.
You apply Appalachian horror rules: Don't look back, don't make a peep, don't stay out too late past sunset, always cary a lighter, and most importantly; do not run.
These rules allow you to effectively ignore the presence. Whether that's necessarily the best option or not, you feel safe and you can keep going on your walks until winter
Or so you think.
You were getting too comfortable, not taking a walk at 10pm, nothing but the moonlight to guide you. You were perfectly relaxed until you felt a shift. That presence, the one you were ignoring. It had vanished. Usually that would be a relief, but now it was harrowing. Where did it go? Why did it go?
And just like that the fear sets back in, and you forget the first rule. A rustle sounds behind you and you whip around. You are not alone
A tall, gangly, antlered creature stands before you. If you were to guess, you'd probably put them at about 10 to 11 feet tall. Despite their gangly appearance, they were decently muscled and very clearly incredibly strong. Adorning their head were a massive set of spindly pearlescent antlers. That aside, the only other noticable feature from so far away were their eyes, two glowing emerald orbs.
The creature before you tilts its head to the side, it's voice low as it rumbles deep in its throat
"Sorry if I frightened you little one..."
