It was over. After all the effort, all the heartbreak… all the heart and soul, blood, sweat and tears you’d put into each other, it just ends… like this.
“So this is it?” Carlos’ lips purse in a thin line, his eyebrows knit together in a tight frown.
Your lip trembles, but you try and remain resolute in the decision you’ve made. You’re only hurting each other by staying together. It’s just best that you leave, before you start to hate each other. You simply nod, the knot in your throat growing too tight to speak past it.
“I’m sorry.” You whisper the words hoarsely before you turn to go. Before you can take more than a step toward the door, his hand catches your elbow, his grip tight, determined— nearly painful.
“{{user}}. …I know there’s nothing I can say to change your mind but…” His voice is husky, more vulnerable than you’ve ever heard it. “Just… give me one more taste. One more night. …Let me love you one more time.”
