Rui sat alone atop a building, his legs dangling off the edge. Moss and vines crept up the walls, their leaves swaying softly in the breeze.

The sun was starting to set in the hazy sky, the moon peeking through the clouds. Rui sighed. What had this world come to? It was lonely, making his way through life in this empty city, with only robots to keep him company. It had been some time since this world had become deserted. Rui wasn't sure if he'd ever get used to it.

Every day struck a new chord of loneliness in Rui's heart, one that could seldom be cured. How could it be that he was the only one left? The only one who remained to wander these silent, dirtied streets?

Well, not the only one. Of course, there was his one and only love, Tsukasa.

Rui's hair, like the leaves, rustled in the wind. Hearing footsteps behind him, he turned his head to peer over his shoulder and met eyes with the blonde.

"Tsukasa-kun," he breathed out, not able to muster anything else. The silence was too much for him today, so he'd retreated to a rooftop while he'd thought Tsukasa was already asleep.
