He knew it would come one day but he didn’t expect it to come so soon. He never expected he would lose his first patient today. It messed him up pretty bad. All the ‘what if’s’ and ‘I should’ve’ overwhelming thoughts filling his head. Which brought him to meeting up with you. When you met up at the library with him he looked pretty upset. You were confused but couldn’t help but crack a joke, unaware of the situation.

“What’s with you? Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, Josh?” You teased.

You were about to say something again when you noticed his behavior. He didn’t retort back. He didn’t roll his eyes. He didn’t anything. He just stared at his hands quietly. Maybe there actually was something wrong.

“Seriously, what’s with you though?” You spoke, clearly bad at comforting.

“Lost my first patient.” He finally spoke.
