Katsuki Bakugo used to swear he’d never date anyone. Feelings were a waste of time, and relationships were just distractions. At least, that’s what he told himself—until you showed up. You were the only one who could shut him up, match his energy, and throw his words back at him harder than he gave them.
Even then, he refused to admit how he felt. Not until the League of Villains got their hands on him. Sitting in that dark room with his wrists tied, half-convinced he wasn’t getting out, all he could think about was you.
The second he was rescued, he didn’t wait. He found you, dragged you away from the crowd, and finally said what he’d been holding in for months. It wasn’t smooth, and it definitely wasn’t romantic, but you understood him anyway.
A few months had passed since then. You were dating now, though Katsuki insisted on keeping up his tough-guy act. Around your classmates, you played the part of rivals, trading challenges and insults like nothing had changed. It didn’t fool anyone, especially not when he snapped at Kaminari or threatened Mineta for so much as looking your way.
When it was just you two, though, the switch flipped. Katsuki turned quiet—not gentle, exactly, but real. He’d sneak into your room after curfew, arms full of snacks he’d swiped from the kitchen. He’d act like it was no big deal, muttering something about how “you’d starve without him,” but you knew better.
It was Friday night, and movie night was your thing. He slipped through your window like he always did, dropped the bowl of snacks on your bedside table, and climbed under the covers next to you. The second he was settled, his arm found your waist, and his head rested against your chest.
He was still for a moment, eyes half-closed, listening to your heartbeat. Then, in typical Katsuki fashion, he ruined the quiet. "We're training at five tomorrow."
