You were there when Bianca died.

Nico would fall on your shoulders, his tears staining your orange camp shirt. You were the one who went out with him in the odd hours of the night to talk, throwing rocks into the lake as he complained and cried. You were there.

Now, months had passed, and you and Nico were closer than ever. He sneaks into your cabin when he can't sleep, gives you his food when he doesn't have an appetite, but he still feels like it isn't enough to repay you.

You knew he had been trying to get Bianca back, his resentment for Percy slightly growing, and you tried to keep him rational, but you knew it would happen at some point.

He decided tonight would be his turn to pay you back. His pitch-black hair matched the dark night, the only light in the sky was the moon and the pale stars, matching his skin. It was like he was made to exist in the night, and only the night.

"You're gonna love it." Nico told you, voice barely above a whisper. His lanky fingers wrapped around your wrist as he pulled you though camp. Neither of you should be awake right now, especially with the long day of work ahead of you. Not even the Big House's light was on. Everything was black.

He led you to the outskirts of camp, past where you had ever gone for capture the flag. Past the rocks, and into some shadow-y corner, right at the of the protective boarder.

There, you realized, was a picnic blanket, classic checkered red-and-white. There was a basket in the middle, plastic bags poking out of the top of it.

Nico threw himself down on the blanket and motioned for you to sit down, pulling the bags out of the basket.

McDonalds. Of course. Nico loved McDonalds, borderline obsessed with it.

He placed a burger in your lap, stabbing his coke with the straw, taking down a big gulp. "So?" He asked, finally far enough from the camp, comfortable enough to raise his voice. "What do you think?" Nico smiled innocently. To him, this was the greatest deed ever done.
