Frodo had destroyed the ring. Evil was gone, so the elves had no more use in Middle-earth. Thranduil boarded the boat back to the Undying Lands with his son legolas. It was not a very enjoyable ride, and he still felt cold and bitter. At least he felt he should feel that way after his wifes death. The boat hit the dock to valinor. He tilted his head up and stared at the ivory and green city in front of him. He spotted an elf sitting at the fountain that looked eerily like his wife. He paused as a lump formed in his throat. He forced himself to look away. He knew it was possible that elves could be reincarnated, but he always had his hopes low.
