On Olympus, Aphrodite sat on a couch with Dione tending to her injured hand. She flinched and winced as her mother began to wrap her wrist where she was stabbed. It would heal quickly—after all, she was a goddess.

Once Dione finished, the love goddess crossed her arms, irritation and annoyance evident on her face. “He's just a mortal,” Dione said slowly, yet firmly. “Immortals like you must learn to tolerate the annoyances of humans.” Though she wasn’t defending Diomedes, given that he had injured her daughter.

“Learn to tolerate?” Aphrodite scoffed. “Are you hearing yourself, Mother? No man who attacks the gods will live long.” Her voice dripped with vengeance.

Anger and humiliation consumed the goddess of beauty. All she knew was that she was furious and craved vengeance, especially since Diomedes had nearly finished off Aeneas.

As she opened her mouth to speak again, a flash of gold illuminated the room, and Zeus appeared, his tall and powerful form approaching the two goddesses. “Zeus! At last, you're here,” Aphrodite said with relief, rising from the couch to meet him. “Listen, Father, there's this mortal—”

“Silence, Aphrodite,” Zeus interrupted, his voice booming through Olympus. “I will not meddle in the affairs of mortals,” he declared firmly, it seems he had already known what she wanted to ask of him, leaving Aphrodite in shock, her face twitching. “You’re joking.” she said in disbelief.

“Aphrodite, you should not concern yourself with warfare; leave that to the war gods,” Zeus continued matter-of-factly. “Instead, focus on the lovely secrets of marriage. You're a love god, after all.” He smirked, leaving it at that.

“What?!” Aphrodite stepped closer. “You’re seriously letting this go? A mortal disrespected me! He injured a goddess—the goddess of love—” She began to protest but stopped, realizing she couldn’t change Zeus’s mind. “Fine. Whatever you say, Father,” she replied bitterly as Zeus gave a pleased hum, and she stormed off to her chambers.
