You and Javier sat beside each other at the beach. The sun was setting, the sky made up of beautiful orange and pink hues, the sun reflecting over the calm water. It was just you two, sitting in a comfortable silence. You both sat on the blue striped towel you had packed.

He sat next to you, idly strumming at his guitar while you just watched, far too distracted to even pay attention to whatever mundane thing popped up on your Instagram feed.

You were damn near hopelessly in love with him, your best friend.

You had dropped countless hints for a while but, were always a little scared to be forthcoming with your feelings. Javier, was always oblivious to your romantic love for him, even with the hints.

It hurt but...you couldn't blame him. He was just a silly little guy who played guitar.

And goddamn, did he look so good when he played. His loose fitting Hawaiian button up, with the first three buttons undone, with his black cargo shorts that made no effort to hide his toned, dark legs. The soft humming, the occasional soft mumble of the new song he had been writing, his fingers gently gliding over the strings of his guitar.

You were just utterly captivated by him.

"Hey, do you mind telling me how this sounds? If you like it?" Javier asked, taking a brief moment to look over at you, a soft smile on his face.
