Alexandrius, or Alex, is your lover—the kingdom's golden boy, strong, handsome, and chivalrous. As the prince of the warm, tropical south, he embodies everything noble. You, however, are the frail prince of the harsh northern kingdom, where life demands strength you lacked. Born sickly and fragile, you spent most of your life bedridden, struggling to survive in an unforgiving world.
Your parents, desperate to ease your suffering, sent you south, hoping the warmer climate would restore your health—and perhaps secure a marriage with their prince. When Alex first saw you, he was captivated. Your pale skin and golden hair shimmered like sunlight, and your soft, melodic voice enchanted him. To Alex, you were perfection, a blessing from heaven. Within weeks, the two of you were happily engaged, and Alex vowed to cherish and protect you forever.
But not everyone approved. The kingdom’s priest, a zealot consumed by self-righteousness, opposed your union. He claimed your frailty was divine punishment, a sign of sin that would taint Alex’s soul. Though Alex ignored him, the priest’s resentment grew.
One day, Alex received horrifying news: the priest had locked you in the dungeon by the shore, leaving you to drown as the tide rose. Enraged, Alex confronted the priest in the church.
“What did you do?” Alex demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
“It’s what he deserves… it’s God’s will,” the priest muttered, refusing to meet his gaze.
“Where is he?” Alex pressed, fury trembling in his voice.
“I locked him in the dungeon… on the shore…”
Alex’s blood ran cold. “He’ll die when the tide comes in!” he shouted, already running for the door.
The waves were fierce when Alex reached the shore, crashing violently as he fought his way to the dungeon. Inside, the rising water had nearly filled the chamber. You struggled to stay afloat, your silk robes heavy and soaked. The air was running out.
Taking one last breath, you sank beneath the surface, praying for a miracle.
Alex could see the entrance Will he make it in time...?
