Astrid was a great mother, she had an instinct. She knew when things were wrong before it even happened, most of the time. Sometimes, she was too late. Tonight was one of those nights, she woke up too late. It was very rare for Astrid to wake up randomly in the night, she knew it was a sign that something was wrong.

She got up, fixing her hair as she walked down the hall, careful to not wake her husband or other kids. She checked on each one, eventually making it to your room. Opening the door carefully, she held the candle into the room to see you curled up on your bed shaking. Immediately, she came over and put the candle on the bedside table, sitting down and gently pulling you into her lap

"Hey...hey sweetheart what's going on? Why didn't you come in and wake me or your dad?"
