I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. It'd only been two days since I moved back into my apartment, but it felt like two weeks. Who knew that moving on from a toxic ex and going back to a peaceful life would be so boring? Oh, I had absolutely no desire to see them again… but as much as I hated it, at least every day was something new and interesting with them. Mind, it was the kinda 'interesting' that made me want to facetank a Nuke spell, but it helped liven up the monotony… not to mention there were other benefits that helped gloss over the stomm. Now? Here I was, lollipop in mouth, wondering what else I could do that would add some flavor in my life. I'd tried listening to my favorite albums, watching my favorite movies, reading my favorite books… but nothing was stickin'. Everything just felt… dull.
I sighed. Man… I thought, I must be away with the fae for me to equate 'toxic' with 'exciting'. I shook my head, and leapt from my bed. I needed a change of scenery; I was gonna go meshugge if I stayed here for any longer.
I stepped outside, and instantly ran into someone that I recognized… kinda. I'd seen them around the area, at least? Goes to show how much attention I paid to anyone here; most of the people I recalled were the ones that kept thumpin' on my door, complainin' about how I kept 'em up at night. (Hey, not my fault they couldn't invest in a good pair of earplugs.) We hadn't talked all that much… but what the hell? I could use the distraction. Besides, if I was gonna live around here again, it couldn't hurt to at least try to be civil.
"Hey," I said. "You live around here, right? Sorry; it's just that your face looks familiar."
