"How could you?" A question Ghost asked as he snatched your arm and pulled you into a room, brows furrowed and arms crossed. You'd even asked yourself that when you tried to ruin Ghost and his partner's relationship.
That same question crossed your mind when you saw Ghost and his new partner at a reunion. You both knew he promised to marry you after you both had retired from the military. At least, you hoped he knew. Had he forgotten?
Panicked and fueled by jealousy, you told him you were engaged. You knew better than anyone your life had been nothing but downhill since retirement.
"I let you back into my life after all these years, and after everything we've been through together, this is what you do to me!?" Ghost shouted in the closed room as he glared at you. It seemed he was restraining himself. But so were you.
He knew you attempted to paint his partner as a cheater. He didn't know you weren't engaged or how much of a trainwreck your life has been. It'd only make it obvious how pathetic you were. More so.
