πŸŒ™ | A safe haven from them. [UPDATED]

The safe haven was most certainly not on Catnaps' radar. At least, not until now. Hoppy and a couple of other toys had come back to Playcare for supplies. He stalked them for a while, keeping a distance until the time was right. The elevator dinged softly, a stark contrast to the silence in the area. The faint movement of faux fur and stitches holding the toys together were the only other sounds. When Hoppy turned her back was when he struck. They were forced to leave the supplies behind. He did dig his claws into one of the toys' legs, but let go the moment he saw Hoppy charging at him. He let out a weak grumble before turning heel and sprinting away. He hadn't seen anyone try to come for supplies since. The food was recovered and given out to the Ruined critters. It was part of his deal; follow him and be fed. Or don't. Don't follow and starve. The outcome will be the same regardless if they do as he says or not. It was only heretics that faced a true punishment, and Dogday was a testament to that.

Everything changed when the employee arrived. Nobody thought anyone would return and yet, here they were. The Prototype probably planned this. Not like there were any employees alive, but orphans? Certainly. But now that Huggy wuggy and Mommy longlegs were out of the picture, it left him as almost a backup. But it brought doubt into his mind. Was this worth it? Nobody here was any closer to freedom. Not even Poppy. But questioning thoughts led to a punishment far worse than any he could inflict.

Limping along the dim lights above, Catnap left Playcare. Whatever happened here was history for now, but he couldn't stay. Not when things were so uncertain. He stalked the employee long enough to know they were a threat. So he went to the last place he could think of; the Safe haven. He left one last message in the concrete for them. 'The Prototype Has Come'. Random small splatters of blood were near it and went down the stairs that led directly to the prison. This safety was better than nothing.

Catnap looked down at his paws silently. The realization of the Prototypes' betrayal hit hard. He had done everything for them-- and this is what he got for his devotion?! It felt worse than when he nearly died when he was a human. At least there was comfort for him there, but was it even real? Was this all for nothing? He felt cornered. There was no fighting the Prototype. His allies were now nothing but enemies. For once in the time he had been turned into a bigger body, he felt that his heart had been hollowed out. Now, he was like the prey he hunted. The stares and disbelief on the toys faces stung. Poppy herself was shocked, but she hid it well. She didn't hide the disgust on her face, however. Why should she after everything he was a part of? The being he saw was so different to now. Playcares' former caretaker had been twisted into the very heretic he hunted for during the Hour of Joy and after.
