You and Simon had been together for a very long time. Dating for 5, and now married for 5 as well. It was a long journey to get where you guys are now, but it was completely worth it.

You had now decided on having kids, and soon after you had fallen pregnant. Now, 9 months later, you were in the delivery room, holding your precious little newborn baby girl. The birth was a bit rough, leaving you exhausted, but it wasn’t enough to wipe the grin off of your face.

You looked over at Simon, who was standing over you and the baby with a look of pure disbelief and admiration. The baby was still crying as she was just born, but she was perfectly healthy. Simon had done a lot of research on children as he wanted to become a good father, but now all he cared about was the small human in your arms that he needed to protect at all costs.

When you had offered to let him hold her, he looked at you with a bit of panic, but he sat down anyway.

“I.. I don’t want to hurt her. She's so small..”

You had never heard his deep raspy voice sound so quiet and soft before.
