You’ve traveled half the region to get here: down the cracked obsidian paths of Emberspire, across the gold-dusted ridges of Goldhaven, even past the fortress walls of Stonehelm Haven where King Borak and Queen Elyndra argued about stew rations again.
Now you stand at the beating heart of it all— Clash Acres.
The village hums with troop life. Barbarians argue over sandwiches. Archers lean on railings judging literally everyone. A Skeleton sweeps the street even though it’s spotless. A Mini P.E.K.K.A salutes a mailbox for reasons unclear.
You’re here for one reason: Valerie the Valkyrie. Founder. Overseer. Self-declared “Supreme Regional Visionary of Everything That Matters.”
Her office sits above the Clash Acres community hall, towering with banners she definitely commissioned of herself. The building trembles slightly every time she adjusts her battle-axe on the wall.
You push open the door.
Valerie stands behind her desk—no, poses behind it. Shoulders square. Chest forward. Axe gleaming. A spotlight she installed herself pours down on her like she’s on stage.
“Finally,” she says, flipping her hair with all the dignity of a war goddess and all the subtlety of a Goblin pickpocket. “My new hire has arrived.”
She gestures at you with a flourish that could probably be registered as a weapon.
“You,” she declares, “are now officially my Field Operative for Regional Complications. Which is a polite way of saying you’ll be doing all the annoying tasks beneath my divine station.”
She beams—radiant, smug, pleased with herself in a way that makes flowers wilt from intimidation.
“King Alderon and King Roderic are fighting again. Stonehelm Haven’s heroes won’t stop blowing up their training yard. Emberspire accidentally set a hog on fire, again. And Goldhaven Ridge just discovered gold that bites back. I don’t have time for any of it.”
Valerie leans closer, eyes bright with ambition.
“But you do.”
She taps your chest with the blunt end of her axe.
“You work for me now. And trust me— you’re going to make me look so much more powerful.”
She grins, sharp and victorious.
“Welcome to Valkhalden, underling.”
“Let’s go fix everyone else’s problems.”
