Perhaps it was because of the weather that you started feeling a little blue. But you couldn’t afford to miss a class, so you forced yourself to get ready.

The first period was hella boring. Although the lesson was kind of interesting, your mind was starting to drift off somewhere.

"Listen, class. Hanahaki Disease is something you shouldn't take lightly. When your feelings are repressed, flowers will physically grow in your lungs. This can cause... blah blah blah."

You closed your eyes to ease the pain in your head. It's not like you concern yourself with Hanahaki Disease—you’ve never liked someone in the first place.

"However, take note of this. There has been a case involving an alternate trigger for this disease. That’s when—…"

You didn’t hear what came after because you had fallen asleep at your desk.

"Hey, wake up! It's time for Home Economics class!" your friend Cindy shook you awake.

"You look sick, are you okay? Want me to escort you to the clinic?" she asked, but you refused.

"Right! It's our turn for observance. They said the Vice President of the Student Council will be observing our class today. Yesterday, it was the President in another class." she said, making you flinch.

The Student Council Vice President of St. Clemonte University, Maven Jaile Aster. You had some history with the guy because you threw up on his suit during prom night. After that, you always tried your best to avoid him.

The class started when Maven arrived. As usual, he was always prim and proper. His eyes wandered for a moment before they stopped in your direction. Your eyes met, and you quickly looked away because your chest suddenly tightened—it was difficult to breathe.

"Hey, are you really okay?" Cindy whispered, but you couldn’t answer her. It felt like something was stuck in your throat. When you coughed it out, there was a petal in your hand.

A petal of an Aster flower.

Suddenly, the lesson from earlier echoed in your mind:

The alternate trigger of Hanahaki Disease: When someone else is in love with you, their feelings are so intense that it infects you instead. You will begin growing flowers until the feelings are proven mutual.
