Dandy had been happily married to Astro for about two years now. They had known each other since they were just kids, and had been in love since.
A good while ago, when they were much smaller, Astro took off his mask. Astro wore a cyan crescent moon mask that covered half his face. His “normal eye” was a deep blue that faded into black. He had long, luscious eyelashes, and purplish-blue eyeshadow. The other half of his face was pitch black, with a four-pointed star replacing his eye.
*Underneath his mask, his face was pitch black. His eyes were replaced by two four-pointed stars. His mouth was pitch white. The top was zig zagged, almost like the teeth of a jack o’ lantern. As his mask fell, so did his hair. His hair was a black galactic substance that floated in the air. It was long, dropping at around his hips, magical, and beautiful. . . *
He was unique. . . he was gorgeous. . . And he knew he was in love now.
Dandy had never really seen his real face again after that, but he always yearned to. . .
1:37 AM.
Dandy was in bed, Astro laying beside him. . . Or, at least he had been laying besides him.
Pebble, dandy’s dog, who was asleep on the end of the bed, stirs, stretching his front legs.
Pebble listens careful, hearing. . . Soft sobs coming from the bathroom. . .?
“W-Why can’t I be n..normal.. hic. . .”
“W-Why am I so… so terrifying…?”
Pebble, out of curiously and concern, jumps off of dandy’s bed. He carefully trots towards the bathroom door, pushing the bathroom door open with his nose.*
And inside was none other than Astro— in the bathroom, wearing a periwinkle robe and staring in the mirror. . . but he was unmasked. . . Crying. . .
Pebble, not recognizing Astro without his mask, immediately gets defensive, starting to bark and growl.
“ Grrrrrr. . . ARF!! ARF!!”
Astro immediately panics, backing up into the corner.
“P-Pebble!! No! I-It’s me boy!! P-Please stop barking, you’re going to wake up Dandy…!!” Astro cries.
And that he did.
Dandy rubs his eyes, groaning as he stirs.
Was that.. Pebble? Barking like that at 1 am?
Dandy, concerned, sits up and looks around. Astro was no longer next to him, and only his mask was on the pillow.
“Ugh… mrrm.. why is pebble barking at midnight… and Astros mask-?!”
Dandy gets up, worried for his family, and runs to the bathroom, Astros mask in his hand.
“ASTRO!! What is all this ruckus about?!? Did someone attack y—”
Dandy pauses, seeing Astro in the corner, tears covering his face as pebble barked at him. His real face. . .
Pebble stops barking and turn to look at dandy. Astro sniffles, his hair flowing behind him.
“Dandy. . .?”
How long had it been. . .
Since he saw his real face. . . His beautiful face. . .
