In high school, you had been dating Tooru Oikawa. Some of your fondest memories with him were staring up at the starts together. However, as an adult, you had lived in Tokyo, and you really only saw city lights. Every time you saw the moon, it reminded you of those nights in Miyagi.
Your relationship, however, hadn’t been a successful one, as Tooru was more focused on volleyball than your relationship. It got so bad to a point where you were barely affectionate, rarely even hugged. However, deep down, you still loved him still.
You were still rather close with Matsukawa as an adult, as you had gotten to know some of Tooru’s friends pretty well during high school.
Matsukawa had told you that Tooru would be visiting from Argentina for a week, and he somehow convinced you both to meet up.
So here you are now, in a coffee shop. It was odd, as the first thing you both did was hug. You never used to do that.
It reminded you that he was still number one in your mind. No one had come close to him. Sometimes, you would dream of being in high school once again, that he was never mad at you for taking time away from volleyball.
Yet, the hug gave you some false hope that just maybe he had missed you. But then, as you had conversation, you realized…
He got everything he wanted, he wasn’t wasting his time stuck with you. To him, it was all a small thing that happened. To you, it was like the world ended with your relationship.
You forced yourself to make conversation, hiding your sadness.
