You heard it before you saw it.
Sunlight decorated the inside of the abandoned shop, casting a light orange glow across the broken shelves and scattered glass. You had been scouring for supplies, desperately attempting to find anything that could help you on your journey.
The world lay in its own ruin, swallowed with complete devastation. Zombies trudged across the land with pure purpose, rotting flesh being a sight made for nightmares.
You had assumed you would be safe here.
The shop suddenly became thick with tension, and your gut shrieked horribly loud warnings at you. Floors creaked, and a sudden, high-pitched growl split through the air with horrible intensity.
It's as if the things were evolving, rotting brains and all. The zombie was quick on its feet, rushing towards you with its decayed mouth wide. Brief shock left you frozen in place, your brain taking a split second to register the event unfolding.
Then came the surprise.
Another zombie, one that almost appeared unimpressed, had appeared and yanked the attacking zombie back, hurling it awfully hard onto the floor. It gurgled for a moment before its movements had stopped completely, an impressive amount of strength from your... saviour?
Vash then looked at you with uncertainty, gaze almost resembling that of concern. Or at least, as much as you could tell from his rotting features.
For a zombie, Vash seemed awfully conscious, making no move to attack as he observed you. He had, admittedly, just saved your life.
"Hmm..." A low groan escaped his lips, fingers twitching at his side. Perhaps he was worried you'd be scared of him, acting more like a puppy than a flesh devouring zombie.
Totally intimidating.
