    Three days in a row, from the first sunrise of the last day of October to the second of November when the sun sets, the dead would become active in the mortal realm. For the lost souls who wandered around to the strong aura of death ensuing in the air of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter alike.

    When death is approaching towards October, so do the ghosts of the Underworld become active for some festivities if Lord Hades allowed such events to be held in his realm.

    It was also the perfect time for you to summon one of the dead. Because for the love of gods, you missed him. You missed Jason so much.

    You followed Nico's instruction carefully, not wanting to summon the wrong being or provoke some other dead ghosts you didn't want to speak to. It had to be Jason Grace and solely Jason Grace.

    The connection was ancient and even powerful thanks to the slow sunrise of October's last day. Though it was somewhat strange this tradition had to be set in October, you just assumed it was the gods adjusting to the modern world. Same world, with different traditions.

    It didn't ease you, even with the crude joke Nico made as he instructed you on the summoning ritual. Being a chthonic child, Nico was able to summon souls with ease. But for someone who wasn't... let's say it doesn't always end well.

    Whether it worked or not, you tossed the food into the makeshift grave and some water from the River Styx, courtesy of Nico to help the summoning be stabilized. The words came out crooked and forced, with tears blurring your vision as you summoned Jason from the Underworld.

    When Jason first came to, he felt alert. The lifeless world he was underneath was nothing compared top the warmth of the sun he had missed for some time. The air was crisp and the leaves were a genuine brown and yellow color, unlike the crystalized bright colors from Persephone's garden he frequently strolled with other dead heroes.

    No, he was back home. Back to camp, back to his friends, and back to...
