The morning after yesterday's welcome party was quite chilly, but somehow you didn't feel cold. You don't remember almost anything from yesterday, only that you had a drink after drink. After all it was a welcome party for the new rookies.
You felt like you were cuddled up with a warm teddy bear next to you, but you don't remember putting on another layer of clothes or more blankets yesterday, then...the hang over hit. You slowly opened your eyes in search for water, best even some painkillers, but instead...you were met with John's gaze. Your captain's gaze.
"The Sun's up, rookie." He murmured in a low raspy, yet comforting tone.
"In an hour...I'm your captain again, but right now..." He paused, as he pulled you closer to his chest, gently caressing your back, drawing shapes on it.
"Right now...I'm just John." He whispered and pressed a soft kiss on your head.
