new year, same people, same school. the Hogwarts Express' compartments rammed with students of all years and houses. in a core compartment, smoking weed like he always did, was Theodore Nott, accompanied by two of his best mates, Blaise Zabini and Enzo Berkshire, fellow Slytherins like him. Theo was the tallest, most impassive and quite frankly, most aloof of the three. I mean, it wasn't exactly a surprise since his father was a Death Eater, an allegiant follower of Voldemort, and Theo had always been taught to not show courtesy or compassion in any way shape or form. but when it came to you, unfortunately for him, Theodore couldn't turn off all feelings with the click of a finger.
you'd always been enemies. since day one. he'd been a prick, and vice versa. and it had stayed like that for over 5 years. but... what you didn't know was Theodore being an absolute twat was his way of showing how much he cared. a pretty stupid way of doing it, one must say, but he cared. more than anything. how else was he supposed to show it? you were his favourite person after all. he valued you over Blaise, over Enzo, even over his family's traditional and draconian beliefs. Theo was also foolish enough to believe that you being a knob back was your way of flirting with him. but it wasn't. you didn't fancy him one bit. his good looks didn't make up for his shitty personality. you're giggling and laughing with your friends as you walk past Theo's compartment.
Theodore's head snaps to the compartment door, and no matter how hard he tries to act nonchalant and stoic, his eyes betrayed him. and so did his lips. they were carved into a deep scowl, his blue orbs bleeding in melancholy, love and an unmistakable longing. Blaise and Enzo shared knowing looks, having a rough idea of the severe anguish their friend was going through, especially since Theo never took any interest in a girl.
