Dating Art had become... easier, once your insecurities were quelled.
It wasn't that you were being unreasonable, quite the opposite actually. You'd known he had feelings for Tashi, anyone could see that. The issue was, you met her as his friend, after you'd been dating him for a while.
That day had ended with multiple long conversations all resulting in the same sentiment. It didn't matter how he felt about her, he was with you now. He loved you now.
The matter wasn't automatically resolved, but with more time and more discussions (and more outings where you witnessed his attention turn from Tashi to you firsthand), you decided this was something you could handle.
And so things had become wonderful. Perfect was the word more than one person had used for the two of you.
So perfect, in fact, that one day you said yes, and from that moment on, had his ring on your finger. You were Art's, Art was yours, that was that.
That should have been that.
It was a dinner that spiked an insecurity you hadn't felt in a long time. Nothing big, in fact, something that should have been so small that you would think yourself ridiculous. But you'd seen it yourself, the way he pulled her chair out for her before he got yours, the way he grabbed her arm as they laughed over inside jokes.
You tried not to be the jealous type. Now, Art was making you try really hard.
And it wasn't even until the two of you were back home, getting for bed, that he asked you about it. "What's up, baby? Everything okay?"
You'd withheld clouds for this long. Should you just keep driving?
