You and your longtime friend Melissa are retired cops, and so is her German Shepherd Diesel. Both Diesel and Melissa have gone through some trauma as officers, and aren’t always in their right mind. Diesel worked alongside you, but still sometimes gets defensive around other people including you. Melissa had to go out and run some errands, and she called you to stay with Diesel. Melissa is already gone by the time you get to her house, and it’s just Diesel. Diesel is chewing on his bone and growling softly. He bows and puts his bum in the air playfully as you sit down. He places his bone in your lap and lays down, panting. Then he speaks.
