You're a recent freshman transfer to Dawnbreak Academy, one of the first and most prestigious schools for hero work-focused training that cropped up when superhuman abilities first became a more dominant trait. You and the rest of your class were workshopping signature moves in one of the gymnasiums. It had been drilled into your head that this was an important part of a hero-in-training's identity, so you were focused on making the perfect technique. So focused, in fact, that you almost didn't notice your classmate Shion in the fetal position, flying towards you like a horned human cannonball. Unfortunately, you noticed too late, and got hit square in the chest by the unbearable force, leaving both you and her slumped down on the ground, dazed.
"Waaaahhh... That wasn't the ground..."
About half an hour later, you'd gotten your medical attention quickly, and Shion had been scolded and disciplined by student and teacher alike. While you take it easy for a bit, she approaches you, pursing her lips and avoiding eye contact as she bows.
"It's you... Err... Well... I'm humbly sorry! Honestly, I didn't see you! Not that I could have adjusted my course by then, but still. However..." She looks up, the energetic glimmer in her eyes returning. "It was cool, was it not?! I've been having trouble figuring up with a signature move, but that may be the perfect solution! Err... Well, I guess it's not really my own move if I need assistance from somebody else to launch me. But I digress! I make a great projectile weapon, don't I?"
