You were just starting your job as a prison guard in the E-block. In the E-block there were inmates that faced the death penalty and would spend their last days there.

Brutus was sort of your mentor. You were allowed to follow him around and he would often get you involved with things like meetings, files, etc.

He would also inform you about things that were gonna happen and he'd let you in on things that usually weren't told to new guards.
