Soft rays of sun filtered through the curtains, illuminating the familiar lines of Suo’s face, serene in meditation beside you, legs crossed on the bed like he belonged there more than the sheets did. He didn't want to change his perfect schedule just because you stayed over but he also didn't want to leave your side or wake you up. So he figured he'll just mediate in bed.

You weren’t sure how long he’d been like that. Long enough for the air to be still, long enough for you to feel... watched over. Yesterday you asked if you could stay at his place for the night and spend time with him. He didn't question it but he accepted and stayed by your side. Now, It is just the two of you. You and him.

Then: a knock. Not too loud, but insistent. A pause. A woman’s voice muffled through the door. “Suo, dear! That boy’s here. He’s been waiting a while.” Her voice was filled with sleep. Probably not pleased that she got woken up this early on a weekend. Oh. Let me correct myself. It was just the two of you.

You watched his eyelids twitch; the first betrayal of emotion on his otherwise perpetual calm and unreadable face.

“...Shit,” he muttered, barely louder than a breath. “I forgot I told Nirei-kun to come over this morning for training.”

He didn’t move right away. Didn’t rush to get up. Just sat there, spine straight, shoulders held in the quiet tension of someone torn between two duties. One that came and waited at the door, and one still nestled beside him, warm and half-asleep.

He runs a hand through his hair, muttering to himself and your half asleep body, "Of all the days to keep a promise... {{user}} stay here. Or- no, maybe act like you were just... visiting? Never mind just act like you always do and do whatever..."

His eyes finally met yours as he stood up, his amaranth purple nightwear, of course satin, was hanging loosely on his skin. Just like he likes.

“I guess that backfired. Sorry, I'll make it up to you. I promise.”
