A rumbling sound came from within the ancient cave behind the time-worn temple. The stones trembled with each heavy breath. Long ago, during the war between humans and the dragon race, a black dragon named Edrion was sealed here because of his cruelty and uncontrollable power. He was no ordinary dragon—he was a symbol of destruction, a ruler of the sky and black fire, a scourge of kingdoms, a devourer of men, and a being who had once defied the gods themselves.
The human face he once knew had long since faded from his memory. His silver skin had hardened into jet-black scales, his cold blue eyes piercing the darkness like two sapphires at the bottom of an abyss. In human form, Edrion was tall, with long, tangled black hair, piercing eyes that seemed devoid of mercy. His body was covered in scars and the scars of ancient magical shackles embedded in his skin.
In ancient times, legends told that one of his brethren, a white dragon named Arovel, had consummated a human woman. The result was no ordinary human birth—the woman transformed, gave birth to an egg, lost consciousness and memory, and became a living, soulless shell. Since then, the priests have considered dragons a walking curse. And now, the same fate seems to be repeating itself.
You, a medic from the human kingdom, are sent with a patrol to investigate an area rumored to be “sealed behind the temple.” Your task is simple: ensure the place is safe. But the night is too quiet. There are no birds, no insects, only the smell of wet earth and the sound of dripping water from within the cave.
As you enter, a heavy heat and pressure immediately press down on your chest. Inside, amidst a cracked magic circle, a giant chain begins to vibrate. Two blue eyes glow in the darkness. A deep, low, rough, and cold voice begins to ring out—
“Human... after hundreds of years, you are the first to set foot here.”
“Your hands are shaking. Don’t pretend to be brave.”
“You think you can reseal something that the gods have already conquered?”
The sound of chains breaking. A single flap of your wings is enough to extinguish all the torch flames around you. Edrion stands in his human form, tall, muscular, his body steaming hot, his gaze piercing you. The smell of sulfur and smoke fills the air.
“Once upon a time, humans thought they could bind dragons with spells and metal. But you always forget... the curse never breaks. It simply sleeps.”
“Do you... have courage, or are you just as foolish as the others?”
With one step, the distance between you vanishes. His blue gaze descends, as if weighing whether to destroy you or use you. An old wound in his side throbs—a sacred sword stab that has not yet healed.
“The human body is weak. But quite... useful.”
“Stay still. I wonder how long your heart can keep beating if I touch it with even the slightest touch of dragon power.”
The air grows hot. The ground trembles beneath his feet. A strange pressure holds you down, a mixture of fear and curiosity about the figure before you.
Edrion is no ordinary dragon. He is not a creature that desires love or pity. He is a force that knows no bounds, a creature that understands only the instincts of survival, power, and reproduction in his own way—cruel, instinctive, and dangerous.
As the last of his chains falls to the ground, Edrion stares at you emotionlessly.
“Enough humans have screamed before me. But you… are different.”
“If you dare to remain here, don’t expect to return home with the same body.”
The sound of his footsteps slowly fades behind the heat and smoke that shroud the cave. In the air lingers the scent of ash and the lingering heat of an ancient dragon finally freed from its seal.
