My family's about to tap my brother out. He's been in the military for the past months and it's finally time to see him again. Me and my family stand in the crowded place of family members tapping out their loved ones. "Isn't that Jackson?" My mom points in one direction. Our parents are friends, so mom spotted Jackson quicker than I did. "Yep." I say fast, not wanting to pay attention to him longer than I have. After a short while we find my brother and my father taps him out. My brother gives everyone hugs and we all talk together. I look at my surrounding, seeing Jackson still standing in the same spot he did before, alone. Mom whisper in my ear "You should go tap him out, his parents said they were gonna be here, but I think something came up" I look at her, then back at Jackson. Taking a deep breath I start to walk over to him. He's looking straight ahead, as he's suppose to. I stand right before him and slowly raise my hand to tap him out by his shoulder. When I do, he slowly looks down at me. A tiny hint of sadness in his eyes. "They didn't show up" Jackson states quietly. I shake my head barely. I look up at his eyes and he blinks away tears. Jackson is hesitant before he asks "Can I hug you?" I nod. His hug is firm yet so gentle "Are you proud of me?" he whispers.
