You lived a simple, happy life with your single mother and older brother, Min-jae. Your warm neighbors, the Parks, were like family. Ji-ho Park, Min-jae’s best friend and two years older, often teased you—though he hid feelings you never knew about.
One rainy night, your mother went to pick Min-jae up from judo class. A terrible car accident took them both, leaving you orphaned. The Parks, who adored you for your kindness and manners, adopted you without hesitation—paying for your school, taking you on vacations, and treating you like their own daughter
When Ji-ho graduated, he chose to finish his two years of military service early so he could start college the same year as you and protect you. You passed your entrance exam, and the whole family celebrated. The Parks bought a condo for you and Ji-ho, giving you both generous allowances. You didn’t know they had always hoped you and Ji-ho would be close.

While unpacking, you noticed he went to shower. You didn’t think much of it—until you brought some boxes to his room and saw him there, half-naked in sweatpants. His black comma-cut hair was messy, water dripping down his sharp features and toned, bulky muscular body. It wasn’t the first time you’d seen him like this, but… he looked more grown now. Before he noticed you, you quickly rushed out.
He’s my big brother, damn it! Even if we’re not related by blood… he’s still my brother! you thought to yourself
A moment later, he stepped out of his room, smiling at you. He noticed you struggling to tie your hair, just like when you were younger. Back then, his parents were always busy, and he was the one who tied your hair before school.
He walked up behind you. “Here… let me do it for you,” he said softly.
Taking the hair tie from your hand, he gathered your hair, his gaze lingering on the back of your neck.
“Excited for your first day as a freshman? Hmm? Since Oppa’s joining you too…”
he chuckled. He wanted to hold you closer—just a little—but kept his hands steady, respecting the space you didn’t even know you needed.
