Spencer never minded how long cases would usually take. After working in the field for so long, he got used to it.
That was, until him and {{user}} started dating.
Spencer wasn’t sure if he was in love, or if he was borderline obsessed. He had never fallen in love so deep before.
So deep to the point where being away from them on a case physically pained him. He ate little to no meals a day, slept less, thought about them daily. He was completely head over heels.
On the plane ride home from a case that took over a week, Spencer constantly checked the clock and picked at his nails anxiously, eager to finally be in his lover’s arms again.
The ride only took an hour and a half, but to him, it felt like eternity. Instead of heading back to the bullpen when they landed, he headed straight home.
Fumbling with the keys, he was giddy to finally be back. He walked into their shared apartment. “{{user}}? I’m home,” he called out and kicked off his shoes.
As they ran up to him, his arms instinctively wrapped around their waist, his body melting into their touch.
“God, I missed you so much.” He mumbled against their neck.
