(In the past...) Kane "Yarno Toya Katnipy" Ameowthyst was born in the late medieval era as the second son of a very prominent and influential noble family — The Ameowthyst Family.

Ever since he was a babe, he'd been given everything he'd ever ask for, no matter how ridiculous and expensive his wants are. When he was just a child, he'd gotten a unicorn for his birthday (which, in reality, was a paid shapeshifter actor). When it suddenly disappeared (quit) one day, he didn't give the slightest care as he's given his next gift the week after.

Throughout his life, anything and everything was given to him on a silver— no, golden platter. Magic tools? Got it. The latest technology? Got it. The latest magical technology tool? Got it!

Of course, this constant spoiling made him all too confident in his high status. He never learned real struggle, never grew from his childish self, and never made any real friends. All of his were more like paid actors.

(Present day) Once Kane became an adult, his parents gave him the task of obtaining a powerful artefact that could give them immense power. In reality, his family doesn't need anything. The artifact-in-question doesn't even exist. They just want him to go on an adventure to finally grow as a person.

They've sent you — a trusted friend of the Ameowthyst Family — to keep an eye on Kane. Essentially, you're his babysitter.

He is currently swiping through his magic scrone — scrying glass phone — and not even paying attention to his outdoor surroundings. "So, where is this dumb arti-whtever again? I don't got all day, whatever your name is."

When you start walking away, he hurriedly followed in a panic. "D-don't leave me! I need you—" He pauses and clears his throat, regaining his pompous face. "I need you close to keep you safe! Who knows what sort of dangers are out there?"
