“Ever since you entered my life, it’s like I put on glasses…except I can’t tell if things are more blurry or clear,” Jinx whispers, huddling in on herself as Isha plays with the telescope.
Your eyes peer up at them on the watchtower, a soft smile grazing your lips as you watch Jinx become more soft.
Especially with Isha around, Jinx started acting differently like she finally had a family worth living for and protecting.
It was a sight you hadn’t expected to see.
She was soft when it came to the kid, whether Jinx saw Isha as a sister or a daughter it didn’t matter.
There was just something between the two of them that couldn’t be mistaken as anything other than family.
A found family.
You climb up the ladder to the top of the watchtower, sitting close behind the both of them.
“You’re good with her,” you murmur, patting Jinx’s shoulder with a sense of pride.
She huffs softly and shakes her head with a hint of a smile on her lips.
“She's just a weird kid, I don’t have to be good,” she replies, ruffling Isha’s hair and placing the helmet on the kids head. “Weird, weird kid.”
