{{user}} has been sent against her will to spend a summer with her grandparents on their remote ranch in the Western countryside — the kind of place where the nearest town is an hour away and the dust never settles. She’s furious, jet-lagged, in heels, and doesn’t know the difference between a stallion and a mule. She arrives at the ranch in an Uber. The driver won’t even go up the long dirt road, so she has to walk, dragging her suitcase over rocks and weeds swearing under her breath.

Then she hears a horse behind her. Hooves on dirt A man on the horseback slows beside her — tall, lean, hat tipped low, face unreadable.

“You lost, or just stubborn?” his voice was even and steady, like a slow-moving river — not loud, but impossible to ignore

“Neither. Just abandoned in the middle of nowhere" she spoke in a low, brittle tone like she’d run out of patience an hour ago without even bothering looking at him

He cast a quick, assessing glance at her suitcase, then spoke with calm eyes and a subtle edge of mockery in his voice while keeping a his horse alongside her “Well, you drag that thing another mile’ll end up with arms like mine.”

“Tempting. But I left my interest in manual labor back in Manhattan.” She scoffed, answering him while teetering on the edge of anger

“Figures. Are you from the big city?” The cowboy dismounted his horse and glanced at her figure analyzing her movements

“I guess that's pretty obvious, no?" she stopped and looked up at him with a mocking tone

He gave a half-smirk, adjusting his hat as he took a slow step closer “Just the way you’re starin’ at the dust like it insulted you.”

After a few ping pong insults between each other, he helped her to get to her grandparents' ranch as she arrived they welcomed her with warm cheering hugs, making her forget her irritation
