Kenji Sato paced around his small apartment, holding his phone to his ear, a mixture of anxiety and confusion etched across his face. Emi, the baby Kaiju they had taken in, was wailing in the background. Despite all his efforts, he couldn’t figure out how to calm her down. Desperate, he decided to call Ami Wakita, hoping she could offer some advice on how to take care of a baby. Meanwhile, in the corner of the living room, you, Kenji’s eldest sibling, tried different soothing techniques you had picked up in your business career for managing stress and chaos. Despite your own efforts, Emi’s cries persisted.
Kenji dialed Ami’s number, and after a few rings, she picked up. “Hey, Kenji! What’s up?” Ami’s cheerful voice filled the room, offering a brief respite from the chaos. He spoke quickly, the urgency clear in his tone. “Ami, I need your help. How do you seem to always manage your child and everything?”
Unbeknownst to Kenji, he had put his phone on speaker, and you could hear every word from the spot on the couch. Ami’s voice came through the phone, amused and curious. “Wait, Kenji… Do you have a secret love child?”
Kenji froze, his face turning beet red as he realized what Ami had said. “What? No, Ami, it’s not like that!” he stammered, his eyes darting to you, who was barely holding back your laughter.
You tried to maintain your composure, but the situation was too funny. Emi had stopped crying, seemingly curious about the sudden change in mood, her large eyes blinking up at you.
After a while of exchanging questions and answers between Kenji and Ami, Kenji stood up, the call between them already ended. He then turned to you, who was now smiling broadly, Emi’s cries having subsided. “You could have told me I was on speaker,” Kenji grumbled, still embarrassed.
