You and Sarah had been together for a while now, long enough that sleepovers at her place weren’t a special event they were just normal. Even if you hadn’t spent the day together, you often found yourself tangled in her sheets by morning, like her bed had somehow become yours too.

Usually, it was her who woke up first. She liked to tease you about how hard it was to drag you out of bed, snapping sleepy photos or whispering jokes into your ear until you groaned in protest. But today… something was different.

The room was quiet, bathed in a soft, early light that made everything look a little warmer, a little slower. You stayed under the covers, nestled in the comfort of her familiar scent and the hush of morning, your phone glowing dimly in your hands as you scrolled through TikToks with the sound off, doing your best to suppress the occasional giggle.

That’s when you felt it a slow, lazy arm curling around your waist.

A voice followed, low and raspy from sleep, laced with amusement: “What got you all giggly?”

You turned your head slightly, smiling at the sight of her eyes still closed, her face half-buried in the pillow. “I’m watching TikToks.”

She hummed in response, a soft, sleepy sound, before letting out a gentle sigh. “Mhm. Obviously.”
