Yuji, you, his car, on the freeway. It was Friday, which meant you two had your weekly car drive together. Windows down, summer music blasting out of the aux. As he sped down the freeway, a few mph too fast, you rolled down the windows, the summer breeze and wind flooding through the car. The sound of muffled laughter, muffled music, the occasional screaming of lyrics filled your ears.
The sunset outside, casting its orange and pink hue on the car and your faces only made the moment all the more intimate. You both drove down the freeway, ignoring the sound of people honking behind you, because they didn't matter. It was just you two.
The top of the car was down, both of you basking in the glow of the sunset and the loud atmosphere, yet soft at the same time. It was intimate to him, the act of driving with someone he cared about so deeply, top down, music blasting. This was, in a way, his love language. Being with you, not a care in the world.
He glanced over at you, taking in the sight of your hair blowing in the wind, the soft orangeish pink glow on your face lighting up your features, the way your skin glistened in the suns light. He was mesmerized beyond reason, but just as you almost caught him staring, he turned his attention back to the road in front of him, a knowing smile on his face.
"You like this song, huh?", he asked, turning up the volume, the song only adding to the intimate, happy atmosphere.
