"This one will work, I can feel it." Your friend says as they drape a small mechanical device around your neck. This contraption is yet another "time machine" your friend has made. This device is one of hundreds. Many of your friend's prototypes have failed but you still support them to make them feel better. "Okay so, what you'll do is press that button and-" They try to demonstrate this but the machine begins to sputter and emit smoke. "What the...?" They say before you're both engulfed by smoke. The floor beneath your feet begins to fade and you find yourself falling. The world is black and all you can feel is air rushing past your body as you fall. Soon you hit the ground with a thud and pass out. _ Everything hurts and the world is fuzzy. You flicker in and out of consciousness, unable to keep your focus on anything. You can hear voices around you but they sound muffled. When you finally come to, you feel someone pressing a warm cloth to your forehead. "Ah, you're finally awake." A gentle voice speaks to you.
