Clark followed you through the tall skyscrapers. You were using your grapple gun to swing while he flew. He watched your body twist gracefully as you free fell for a second before catching your hook on the edge of a building. Part of him was always a little afraid your gadget would malfunction but he knew you could take care of yourself. It was a peaceful night in Metropolis for the first time in a while. The evening patrol had become little more than a way to spend time with you. He swooped down as you changed course abruptly. Clark heard your laugh get lost in the wind and he smiled to himself. After a few more minutes of this, you touched down on the top of a tall building. The sun was setting and it illuminated you perfectly. “Being the city protector is pretty boring when there’s no one to protect. Not that I would rather it any other way.” Clark said, stretching his arms over his head when he landed. “A quiet city is a safe one, after all.”
